  2. My gawd Philippines, how about something really really from us this time?

    get a picture..
    then photoshop..
may more fun in the philippines ka na!

  5. umm anyone can make their own "it's more fun in the Philippines" meme photos at http://morefunmaker.com/ I doubt DOT has something to do with that pic.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Not really an issue. There's a meme generator available that could easily create a meme like this.

    http://www.morefunmaker.com/

So yeah, anyone with a photo can make one since everyone has access. And by now, the whole world pretty much knows this with all the campaigning in the internet.

This post seems like it is not on the page of DOT itself. If this is a news site, then it's the news site's responsibility to make sure that, in fact, all of what they are publishing is accurate.

Let us not be quick to judge.

  7. Hay... sana they used the funds more efficient... Para may originality naman. If we want to get more tourist, siguro ayusin muna natin ung pagpapatupad ng mga batas.

  8. Trickle down effect. Get an inept president and these things are bound to follow.

  10. Di naman sa DOT galing yung picture. Maka-react naman kayo. May tao siguro na akala sa Pilipinas yan tapos gumawa sya ng sarili nyang "it's more fun" na photo eh galing palang Thailand yung pic nya. Don't blame the DOT.

  11. The team behind DOT's new slogan are some of the best and the brightest creatives in the country. I think this screen cap is either a fake, or the image could've been taken from a meme made by someone not familiar with Thailand's Songkran Festival, or Paninira nanaman ng negatron, or baka sour-graping person na hindi nanalo sa pitch! I tried looking for the specific link, e wala naman. Don't be too quick to judge, mga kapwa Pinoy. -Aling Toyang

  12. isa lang ang masasabi ko... tsk tsk tsk... that's why it's more fun in the Philippines! :-P haha

  13. Ok Lang yan. Hahahahaha!

  14. napanuod ko sa jessica soho, yung mga shot ng filipino photog, ginamit ng DOT without his consent. Nung morning lang before the jessica taping nakakuha ng call yung photog from DOT.

  15. i agree with you anon 16 January 2012 02:06pm. this is not even part of the official photo released by DOT. as of today they only have released 3 "OFFICIAL PHOTOS" for the said campaign. so lets not put DOTs hardwork in promoting our countrys fame to nothing. instead lets be positive in everything. problema kasi sa atin pag.mali ang na post comment kaagad. pag.maganda naman may comment pa din. thats why think before you react.

  16. well lage naman na sinisiraan ang Pilipinas..but Filipinos are creative and unique.. so drop this thing na lang because for sure its just a non sense upload of a person who can't do anything right.. Basta pure Pinoys are proud of being a Filipino! Proud to be Pinoy!

  17. There are only 3 official DOT released meme/ picture as featured on the DOT campaign site.

Seriously, FP this is not even worth posting. I'm sure you know it's not from DOT. I really love your blog but sometimes It lacks discretion.

  18. I would like to believe your readers are intelligent FP. I don't think there is a need to indulge them in non-issues such as this which we know for a fact did not come from DOT.

The "Its more fun in the Philippines" campaign is already catching on almost everyone. There are already meme generators in different internet sites that could let one easily create his version of the campaign. Let us just say
this is the downside of crowd sourcing.

This shouldn't have been posted, I'm sure you know there is no substance to this.

    ReplyDelete
  19. hi FP, i Love you and all but hope you do more research before you post these kinds of things. the 'it's more fun in the Philippines' is very viral in nature, and anyone can make the above photo and post kahit di naman mali and this is beyond the control of DOT. It's the fault of the website na iresponsable, not DOT's..

  20. The screencap source does not exist. I call it fake!

  21. Haha this pic was taken at khao san road.. Bangkok Thailand.. I'm a nurse working at bangkok and I know tha place. Ahaha.

  23. ang mga unang nagcomment naman, wagas ang pangungutya agad! di muna magresearch. kaya nga may question mark si FP sa title - meaning he's not sure himself or he wants to throw the same question for us to verify.

    haaay....

Thanks for the info Jenn. You nailed it!

    ReplyDelete
  25. bat palag ganito sa DOT. remember dn yung sa last year na, was it a slogan dn ba? basta from Poland yata copy paste din. tsk

    ReplyDelete
  26. Winner!!!!! If this really is the result of that meme generator then the people who created that site for the DOT are pretty damn stupid because it can obviously go wrong in so many ways.... as in legally actionable ways. Are DOT still using the same agency? Didn't they have a really embarrassing issue with the tourism campaign logo last year or the other year? Why can't we have even just one government agency that works!

    ReplyDelete
  27. This is what you get from a President and his people who are all hypocrites.

    ReplyDelete
  28. here's the link to a page of the Straits Times, wherein the photo was published: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=308940949147072&set=o.239206572800499&type=1&permPage=1

now, it's either mali yung singapore newspaper, in which case they have to issue a statement, or the DOT supplied the sgp paper with these photos, in which case, the DOT has to apologize with their tails stuck between their legs. easy peasy.

Show some appreciation namn. yan ang hirap masyadong madaming magaling...magalign maghanap ng butas. KAYO NA! know the team you are playing for.

  30. Mr. Mon Jimenez, the new DOT Chair, is a veteran in Philippine advertising and is well-respected in the industry. I don't think this is from DOT --- otherwise, he wouldn't approve it. After the concept was introduced, there are so many ideas generated to show that the concept is campaignable. Anyone can do his/her own "More Fun in the Philippines" execution. Please don't be quick to judge.

  31. i agree with Jenn. the author isn't pinoy, i think. so he must've just googled something at the last minute, saw this one and thought it nice, then used it for his article. irresponsible journalism. or maybe it wasn't even him...maybe it was the layout editor or something. basta i don't think it's DOT.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Basta't may "more fun in the philippines" na sa picture eh gawang DOT na agad? Haller marami kayang talentadong pinoy na kayang kaya yang gawin.. I think this is not official DOT pic :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I agree with Aling TOyang. DOT only has 3 pictures in their official website. Anybody na wala sa kweba knows that the campaign has inspired a lot of people (maliban sa mga iilang negative energy people)who in turn came up with versions of their own.
Plus, porque nagamit na 50 years ago ang "Its more fun in Switzerland" doesn't mean na di na pwede gamitin ang phrase na yun ulit. Bakit magnanakaw na ba ako kung sinabi ko "its more fun to read FP". Naniniwala ba kayo na more fun talaga doon? Sana hindi.

  34. This is actually an IMS - Internationaler Medien Service newspaper. http://ims.pressdisplay.as/epaper/en/viewer.aspx Editorial can be found under http://www.asianewsnet.net/home/news.php?id=26275&sec=1

  35. IF Mr. Mon Jimenez , the new DOT Chair, is REALLY a veteran in Philippine advertising, bakit syapumayag na gamitin ang mga photographs nang walang permiso mula sa may ari ng photographs?

    ReplyDelete
  36. React agad? Di ba pwedeng mag-isip muna? It's not even one of the official pics of DOT's campaign! And you think you guys know everything about our government and advertising...

    ReplyDelete
  37. this picture was also shown in Singapore straits times, so malamang mali yung pic na nilagay sa newspaper, not necessarily galing sa DOT.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Check ko kasi ang nakalagay sa caption sa itaas ng pic.....ung naka border na RED....PHOTO PROPERTY OF DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM PHILIPPINES...and this was posted in online newspaper.....this is a PAID ADVERTISEMENT

  39. There is such a thing as stock photography. They probably purchased this image for use.

  40. AnonymousJan 17, 2012 07:44 PM is right. lets not jump minto any conclusion, photos like this can easily grabbed from blogs or social networking sites...

    ReplyDelete
  42. talking about originality, kailangan ba original lagi, just back up philippine shindi yung andami niyo pa sinasabi, seriously, if you read all over the internet its all about americnas and europeans, naniniwala ba kayo na ang UK is mas friendly sa atin?ofcourse not?na mas friendly ang americans kesa atin?ofcourse not pero ginagawa nila lagi na mas angat sila sa atin at mas pinapaboran nila ang sarili nilang bansa kesa atin, now its about time na sana ganun din tayo
