Shamcey Supsup Wearing a Recycled Alfredo Barraza?

Is it possible that Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup, is wearing an Alfredo Barraza that has been previously worn by Miss Colombia, Catalina Robayo Vargas? What do you think?

  2. hi FP! Maybe this is not the right time for us, Filipinos, to discuss on this. We should be in unity supporting our candidate. We should have the positive spirit during this times. Ok to critic after the competition...thanks and more power to you and co-FP followers! =)

  3. Were not critiquing Shamcey,

Just the Bb Pilipinas organizers.

    ReplyDelete
  4. So what?

    What's the issue?

    ReplyDelete
  5. i don't think so. at this point, let's not start any negativity. let's pray for shamcey's success.

  6. holy camote. recycled nga!!
doesn't really matter to the judges. what matters is how shamcey carries herself in that recycled gown.
but for most pinoys it's a bad thing!! insulto na nga yung foreigner gumagawa ng gown at national costume nya tapos malalaman pa natin na recycled pa pala? nyeta ka stella araneta. =p

Hehehe :) Go Shamcey!!!

Ano man ang ipost ni FP, i dont think intention nyang makasira. Hehehe. FP is surely a supporter of Shamcey. Nakakaintriga lang naman kase ang gown. Kaloka eh nu? :D

  10. Nasa nagdadala yan sister. Besides, ilang beses ko na nakita ang ganyang klaseng design or at least medyo close to that design. Keri lang...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Go shamcey!! Don't bash her, it is Stella Marquez Araneta who decides the trash our poor girls parade to the world.. yeah, that biatch who has the wrong concept of recylin!! If all gays would just unite, donate 1k each, and form a separate org for MU, and buy-out the franchise!!

    ReplyDelete
  12. recycled or not, she still looks good :)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  19. sort of but mind you Ms. Supsup won the Best Gown Competition which means mas magaling siyang magdala kesa ke Miss Colombia.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Why is a Columbian designer the official designer of BB Pilipinas? Should we change it to BB Columbia?

    ReplyDelete
  21. agree with hannah, let's unite to support our candidate :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. infair mas elegegante po si shamcey

    ReplyDelete

Represented yung bansa from head to toe nung contestant.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What's new? matagal nang ginagawa sa ating mga pageant yang mag recycle ng gowns.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It's not important if she's wearing recycled dress - all that matters is she wore it better - don't you think fp readers???

    ReplyDelete
  26. but then again...that colombian contestant is competing at the same year shamcey is in!

ano kaya nasabi ni miss colombia? "hi smacey...loooks family your gown!" hehehehe

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh my, my comment from the other post is turned into a post! :)

Mejo nairita ako sa mga bashing sa missology about kay Shamcey, but some Pinoys can be overkill talaga and other nationalities clueless and mean... IMO, the gown looks flimsy and risque (because of the neckline) on Catalina, on Shamcey it's regal looking, fits her like a glove.

So what if the gown is similar dba? Nasa nagdadala lang yan...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Baka kaya colombian designer ang kinuha kasi

masyado mag price ang mga pinoy designers

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey Mrs. Araneta, we definitely have better local designers. You live in the Philippines now, not in Colombia anymore. In the first place, Philippines ang nirerepresent ni Shamcey. So she should have worn dresses/gowns/accessories made by Filipino designers.

    ReplyDelete
  30. correct me if im wong ha. pero baka ang objective nila dito ay "who wore it better?!" yng ms colombia pokpokita ang dating nung suot ung gown. pero si shamcey may elegance and poise. tama ba aketch mga siblings? :)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  32. bkit naman ganun, wala bang nagmomonitor ng isusuot ni Shamcey for the pageant? for sure the handlers are pretty much aware of it. We have a lot of talented and world-class designers of our own, baket ganito ung sinuot niya? if this is deemed to be true.

    ReplyDelete
Very typical of us to see the bad side of everything.

So what kung naisuot na yung gown? So what kung nagamit na ni Miss Colombia? What's important is Shamcey looks good in the gown and it will help her do well in the Miss Universe. Di naman niya aangkinin yung gown eh. After the contest isoli nya.. Tapos!

Kahit walang pera, mangungutang basta may birthday celebration. And so on.

Kasi di ba si Miss Colombia is infamous for going commando?

    ReplyDelete
Saan?

Anyway, I still support Shamcey, sana manalo siya bukas.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ok lang, mas bagay naman kay Shamcey

    -a.c.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Stars do it all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  37. kahit nadala nya ng mas maganda and she nailed it...

    ReplyDelete
  38. i still think that our contestants are better off wearing gowns by Filipino designers. Some of our local designers are world-class and it would be a good avenue to showcase Filipino talent and creativity.

    ReplyDelete

Mala FHM :D

    ReplyDelete
  43. who wore it better? def Shamcey!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Like the gown.
    Unlike the idea na recycled.

  45. Its a good thing bumagay ke Shamcey and does not work for Ms. Colombia or else sobra kakainis,

Barazza even told pageant forums that its an original design and so happy with the outcome and likes Shamcey very much!! Such a big liar!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. @anonymous 1:21
He was not bashing her! He was asking for his readers' opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ngeee... Ano ba yan! Pageant na d pala special ang gown. May kaparehas! Shamcey good luck! Mas ganda ka naman!

    ReplyDelete
  48. The point is not kung maganda ba ang damit or mas carry ni Shamcey.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Di naman nibaba-bash ni FP si Shamcey... he's just stating na recycled yung gown. That doesn't mean naman na he's not supporting Shamcey noh.

Ang dapat iblame dito is yung Bb.

I can't wait tomorrow! Good luck Shamcey! ^^

    ReplyDelete
  51. Stupid designer. . . Where's the credibility and creativity??? And yes it's miss philippines the gown must be and should be made by a Filipino designer. . . We have great ones here. . . And a lot who are getting famous in different parts of the world. . . Why not get them???

I think Filipino designers shouldn't just be the ones who must be marked as having issues in creating gowns or whatever because other nationals are capable of doing such. . . Just look at the pictures. . .

Lets not discriminate ourselves over the past. . . Dapat kahit anong klaseng pinoy yan. . . Beauty queen, designer, chef or ofw pa dapat suportahan naten all the way. . .

    ReplyDelete
  52. so what? anong issue dun? slow day teh?

    ReplyDelete
  53. actually this is probably true...
pati daw yung national costume that she wore
(ive heard na columbian din ang designer)
    ...
someone correct me if im wrong... may contract ata
(well she may be helping her own countrymen)
    ...
hindi naman yan ang mgandang issue kundi...
    WHO WORE IT BEST DBA?
    (parang sa US magazines)

w/c complimented her 'tsunami walk' :)))
    ...
support shamcey all the way! go pilipinas!

  54. the post is NOT against shamcey.

    ReplyDelete
  55. its not a recycled gown ate...actually same an textile na gnamit you can see the difference dhil yun back up sa likod ng ky shamcey is diff from the one wearing by miss colombia and also the CUT. And cmon how can barazza altered that gown from miss colombia delecate kaya ang tela na yan. its just so happen na resemblance or just for two weeks na nndoon c shamcey minadali na ni barazza ang pagtahi at doon na kumuha ng inspiration sa kay miss colombia instead of creating new style or design.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Based on the picture, yes, recycled. No problem there. Shamcey pulled it through. She made the gown look classy.

    ReplyDelete
  57. GO Shamcey! GO Philippines! :D

    ReplyDelete
  58. I don't see any issue in this actually. What's the point FP? A lot of people recycle gowns and I think so long as Shamcey wore it well (which she did, by the way! hot!), who cares?

With budget cuts and the gown looking fab, and the contestant rocking it, kudos to the Bb Pilipinas organizers for making it work.

Stop stirring the pot too much.... *wags finger at FP*... Ikaw ha!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Ok kang yan kahit recycled, importante naka 3rd si miss shamcey. :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. BREAKING NEWS!!!

Shamcey Supsup refused to marry the son of Prime Minister Bhenazir Bhutto. It's not because of religious beliefs. She just doesn't want to be called Shamcey Supsup-Bhutto. HAHAHA! joke lang! :)

Tsktsk. Buti na lang ung ms. Worl na kay cory quirino na! May pag-asa!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Mas maganda naman ke Shamcey ang gown.

    ReplyDelete

  72. the issue is not on Shamcey wearing a recylced gown a much deeper issue is the disturbing fact that the Bb Pilipinas organizers HAD to get a foreign designer to do Bb Pilipinas gown. Kung magrepresent na man lang tayo sa international arena, itodo na from head to toe. A lot of Pinoy designers made a name in other countries would that still question our capacity to be at par with these designers??? Ms Araneta of Bb Pilipinas please stop using that Colombian designer for chrissake. Congrats Shamcey! Sabay segue...LOL

  74. its not the issue. its the winning of our kababayan....

  76. Miss Universe 2007 io Mori also wore a recycled gown previously worn by Oprah

    ReplyDelete
  77. I sent an e-mail to the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, through its website. How do we make a follow-up on that e-mail?

THIS WAS MY MESSAGE TO BPCI:

Why did you allow our very own Shamcey Supsup to wear a recycled Alfredo Barraza gown which Colombia's very own Catalina Robayo couldn't pull off?

It's a good thing that Shamcey was a naturally elegant woman who carried herself well in that gown.

But the point here is, you have sabotaged our candidates chances for far too long already. You have insulted them and this country by continuing to patronize the House of Barraza which consistently provides our candidates with his trashy creations.

Please don't let this message go unheeded. You seem to have forgotten that this country, no matter how poor it may be, takes genuine pride in the capability and worthiness of its women as international titleholders.

    ReplyDelete
  78. As long as shamcey wore the gown and it was not the gown who wore shamcey :-)

    ReplyDelete
  79. it looks better on shamcey though..

    ReplyDelete
  80. Madam Estella ALWAYS get gowns from Colombia, being she's a Colombian herself. All the gowns worn by Philippines in Miss Universe pageants are from Colombia. I'm not sure if Madam Estella doesn't trust Filipino designers. Maybe she just knows plenty Colombian designers who effectively design gowns for pageants.
