Weren't You Invited by Manny to Watch His Fight in Vegas?

Manny Pacquiao invited most of his co stars from the television show "Show Me the Manny" to watch the Pacquiao-Mosely fight in Las Vegas all expenses paid. Did Manny forget to invite his co star Jonathan Anthony "John" Lapus? Why was he bitter when a common friend posted a congratulatory message to Manny on her Facebook page? Read John’s posts on Facebook and tell me what you think.

  6. i dont even know how on earth manny became a congressman, pls lang manny , stop paying for planes/ tickets / expenses of all your friends, iparating ke manny, in this POOR THIRD world country, we should care about the poor, give the money instead sa mga bata who have no food, who are sick, SHOULD we care for the rich??? looking at the BIG picture, the answer is no, WHY??? rich people can go to asian/st lukes if they are sick, their problem is whether to choose ateneo or lasalle, rich people can deal with their own problems, just like Japan can deal with their own disaster, so pls manny , kung gusto mo talaga na eradicate poverty, start practicing what you preach

  7. Bakit ba mga tao tingin nila tagos sakanila mga bulsa ng mayayaman. Pinaghirapan naman nya pera nya kaya prerogative nya panu gastusin yun. Puro nalang give the money to the poor. Kaya tuloy daming pulubi sa Pilipinas puro asa nalang. FYI hindi ako mayaman ha. I'm not saying na wag maging charitable, pero wag naman natin batikusin yung tao kung san nya gusto gastusin pera nya.

WELL, HINDI AKO MAKA-MANNY PERO I'M JUST STATING MY OPINION.

AND I THINK, ANG POINT NG POST NA ITO AY PATUNGKOL SA KAGASPANGAN NG MGA SINASABI NI JOHN LAPUZ, HINDI SA LAKI NG PERA NI PACMAN.

PLEASE PEOPLE, THINK TWICE BEFORE POSTING, AT NAKAKAINIS MAGBASA NA PARANG BATA ANG NAG-POST.

  12. I am no fan of boxing and neither am I a fan of Mr. Pacquiao. However we should give credit where it is due, The gentleman (and he is, in his ways) has brought us a lot of honor and deserves respect. There is nothing so wrong or laughable with calling him "sir" as he is well respected internationally and is an elected official whether we like it or not. I find that Mr. Lapus to be very crass, rude and disrespectful to his co-worker at the very least. I hope his followers won't follow his example.

  15. I don't find John Lapus amusing at all. I think he is overrated, rude and thinks he is talented when in fact average lang. And I also think he is psychologically imbalanced. Pa-PSYCHOLOGY este psychologist ka John o kaya psychiatrist!

    ReplyDelete
  16. we don't know the reason why Mr. Lapus is that rude to him... they're in the same industry, and i think they may work together in some "tapings". "his entourage" during taping might be the reason why Mr. Lapus is acting that way. they mentioned about "bodyguards" and "delays", so might be the reason for his anger.

but with regards to Manny "helping the poor", I am a witness to his generosity. I went to Gen San, and met him and his family. Everytime Manny goes out of his house, he takes bundles of 500s to give to every person who approaches him and asks money. That's how generous he is. So whoever says that he doesn't care for the poor, that is so judgmental. Anonymous May 11 2:17 is correct, kaya dumadami ang pulubi kasi maraming puro ASA na lang. Maraming Filipino ganyang ugali, nag aantay ng swerte. I am not rich as well, but I work hard to get what I want. Just like Manny.

  21. yes , you are right, its his money and he can use it the way he wants, but the difference is he is a PUBLIC OFFICIAL, he is not a private person, how do we know that he is not using public funds??? if he is a private citizen, i couldn`t care less where he spend his money, just like the Revillas celebrating their anniversary, i dont care about their anniversary but i care why on earth do they need to go to the US just for a photo shoot, who`s money is it ??? to everybody, a good PUBLIC SERVANT should AVOID any impression of impropriety or bias, whether real or imaginary, well, i guess you cannot expect that since pinas to

SO, the key word here is they are PUBLIC OFFICIALS, it is INAPPROPRIATE for Jinkee to buy even one Hermes and let the whole nation knows BUT it is PERFECTLY acceptable for Vicki Belo to buy 10 hermes, why ??? as far as I know Vicki is a private citizen, so now gets nyo na ang point ko???

You should do your research first before you challenge Manny Pacquiao to practice what he preaches. Did you know that Manny gives away hundreds of thousands worth of rice, canned goods and other food to the poor of General Santos every year on his birthday? That he donated a million pesos to the victims of Ondoy? That he contributed to the purchase of dialysis machines in Bicol? That he plans to make a sizeable donation to Gawad Kalinga from his winnings? That the people around him are actually worried that his charitable work will bankrupt him and that his answer to that warning is "I can't take all this money to heaven anyway."? I am not particularly a MP fan, and, like you, I am dubious about his credentials as a politician but no one can deny that Manny is committed to help the poor of the Philippines. He has done more than some politicians who have been in office for decades.

What have YOU done lately? How much have YOU donated to charity?

Begrudging the rich of their deserved lifestyle reeks of your jealousy and crab mentality. At least Manny worked for and earned his money honorably, which is more than we can say about a lot of the rich.

  28. @ dontsaskmetosmile- well, with regards to manny giving to charity , that is true, he gives boxes and boxes of relief goods from the US UNDER MANNY PACQUIAO charity- example was Ondoy , and i mean boxes and boxes and boxes, siguro hundreds , i dont know the exact number ---- BUT do you know where those donations/ relief goods came from???? where the contents of boxes of spam, soap, medicine, towels and other relief goods from US came from???? from ordinary people/citizens who donated when they ask for help because of Ondoy, sino sino sila ? i dont know , these are the people who just want to help ondoy victim, i know that for a fact, coz i am one of them - TRANSLATION- the donation given by generous people was bundled and given under Manny pacquiao`s name, ergo credit goes to him, TRANSLATION- the assumption is all donations were from him

actually, di ko na naisip ito but funny that you mentioned it so i have to just state the FACT- TO SAY THAT WHAT MANNY GIVES TO CHARITY or whatever donation he gives IS ABSOLUTELY / 100 % Manny`s own money is DEFINITELY NOT ACCURATE

DEFINITELY, he does give a lot to charity, malaki ang binibigay nya, nobody and even i never raised that as argument but again NOT 100% OF HIS DONATIONS, IN KIND OR IN CASH , are from him, and THAT IS A FACT

but i always give him the benefit of the doubt, sa dami na taong epal sa paligid nya at sa dami ng inaasikaso nya, sa dami ng taong who wants to take advantage of him, its possible that he doesnt even know about it, but again my point is we should keep an open mind

  29. To May 11 10:16am. I am not a fan of boxing nor of Manny Paquiao, but you do not know what you are saying. Public Official nga si Manny Pacquiao pero SARILI NIYANG PERA NA PINAGHIRAPAN NIYA NG PAWIS AT DUGO ang ginagastos niya. Manny can never be accused of using public funds. As far as we have heard even nuon pa, he gives big amount to charities. Wag mo ipagpilitan yang sinasabi mo dahil you will look like an alien not living in this world. If nanay Dionisia or Jinkee ask for million-pesos HERMES, that's their money to spend, not public funds.

I respectfully disagree. You may be right, if Manny Pacquiao wasn't rich PRIOR TO WINNING HIS CONGRESSIONAL SEAT and then he's suddenly able to buy his wife luxury handbags once seated in congress. That would definitely be suspicious. But that's obviously not the case here. Also, it's not like Jinkee is publicizing her purchases and how much they cost. She doesn't publicize them and volunteer the information like some actresses do. She doesn't "let the whole nation knows (sic)", but she does get asked about it since the public and media are so interested. It's not her fault the media keep focusing on it. Like I said, I never saw her go out and say "Oh, that costs XXX hundred thousand pesos."

Also, I think, of all the politicians, we can safely say that Manny would be the last one to use public funds for personal gain. Even prior to being elected, he's been known to be charitable to a fault. It doesn't make sense that he'll suddenly start stealing public funds, when he's so giving with his own money to begin with. Ngayon pa ba siya magiging madamot at sakim, when he can use public funds to help the poor and not his own money? To even imply that he's corrupt defies logic.

To Anonymous May 11, 2011 12:38: I suppose you're in a better position than most, if not all, of us, since you seem to be closer to the situation than we are. If that is true, then it is sad that Manny is taking credit that isn't rightfully his. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, like you. Aside from the fact that he may not actually know what's going on, Manny never struck me as someone who would take credit for someone else's work.

And yes, I agree with the one who said nakakainis 'yung entourage niya. Some of them mean well, for sure. But probably majority of those are just hangers-on. I'm worried that some of them might take advantage of him to the point of Manny's ruin.

It's not enough that he's giving away his own money (which his is under no obligation to do, by the way, although people act otherwise), he should give people jobs, too?... Really?!? Seriously?!?... With the wealth he's giving away, I just feel that it could have been channeled instead towards something more sustainable. Create opportunities within his area of jurisdiction that will generate a number of livelihood means, for starters. I'm sure Pacquiao doesn't want to create a culture of dependence and make it his legacy in the province of Saranggani. But that is what's starting to happen and to make matters worse, a lot of people glorify it.
