OPM: Oh Promise Me

A designer approached a novice male model after a fashion show. He introduced himself to the model and expressed his interest to cast him for a series of swim wear shows. The designer invited him for a private go see, where he requested him to remove his pants. After seeing him in his underwear, the designer wanted more. He instructed him to remove his underwear because according to him, it is important for him to know the size of the package of his swim wear models. The model felt very uncomfortable with the situation so he made up excuses and left the venue immediately.

Later that night, the designer sent the model several text messages promising him a slot in his upcoming shows provided that he goes back to his studio. He told him that it is really important for him to see his package so that he can measure it. After ignoring him, he received a new batch of texts suggesting that he should just take photos of his package using a digital camera and email the files to him. When there was still no reply, he begged him to just take a photo using his phone's camera and send it via MMS. The designer bombarded him with messages of similar content for more than a week.

The model shared this incident with one of his close girl friends. When she heard about the incident, she decided to do her own research. Upon performing a Goggle search on the designer, she was shocked when she discovered that he does not even design swim wears. He is an accessory designer.

I can not tell you what kind of accessory this designer specializes in because it would be easy for you to identify him (at least for those active in the fashion industry). More than exposing this designer, my objective for posting this story is to inform the models to be aware of red flags. Even if it were a casting for a swim wear or an under wear show, you do not need to show your package!

The model in this story would like to inform the designer that he saved all of his text messages. In the event that the designer asks for evidence, he is very much willing to lend us his cell phone. To the designer, I recommend that you destroy your simcard and get a new mobile number.

  1. hahahaha yun lang, pero me fault din naman ang model, hello????? is he naive??? or plain stupid???as a model who is in an industry dominated by bekis, he should know better that bekis like to see, touch and eat their lollipops then you have a career, lahat naman yan noh nagdaan sa beki, you give your lollipop then you get a career, walang model ang hindi dumaan sa beki, even if i am not in the fashion industry , totoo yan 99% ( since in this world there is no such thing as 100 % ), as the saying goes, walang mauuto kung walang mag papauto

  2. OMG! Grabe naman the designer! Begging the model for, first, proper pictures and then, MMS? He must really, ummmmm, "like" the model, he was so desperate for those pictures.

The designer is very lucky that the model has the decency not to expose him. He could very well go to the Buzz or whatever entertainment news show and show them the text messages. And also that the model didn't sue him for sexual harrassment!

  10. @anonymous (first guy) - i work in the industry you're accusing of models using themselves in order to further advance their career, i can assure you it's not 99% of them, there are still some who work decently, not just the 1% that you're claiming....

  11. @ Fashion Monger

Pwede ba wag na tayo mag bulag bulagan pa dito. The fashion industry/modeling industry here in Manila is not as nice as what you want to project it to be. Di lang 99% ng mga models ang gumagawa nyan kundi 100%. But choice yan ng mga models at labas na rin tayo jan. Pero I tell you 100% of them.

  12. even if its not DC, somebody should send Fashion Pulis personal accounts of this thunder-badingerie's evil acts. He truly deserves a blog entry of his own. And he would probably be doing the same thing as what this guy did. :)

  16. @ fashion monger and anonymous- i think when we talk about fashion models, we should qualify- EXCLUDED are guys who dont want to study, spoiled brats, guys who have pedigree like manotoc ( i dont think any beki will dare or else____ ), ergo , the REMAINING GUYS we are referring belong to the middle/ low class , who wants to be fashion models as their main source of income and because that is their ambition/ passion-------
then yes, i agree with the previous posts - papatol sila sa beki kung gusto nila sumikat at magka pera , pwede ba na huwag pumatol sa beki? pwde , pero by the time na sumikat sila eh old na sila

  17. I found it very funny the comment of one anonymous saying he is a model and does not make patol. But from the way his comments look and the way it was written, mukha syang bakla. Probably he belongs to this category of "models" who are gays who feels they can model. Madami ngayon nag susulpotan na ganito. AT walang matinong straight guy na galing sa mayayamang pamilya na gagawin ang modeling na passion lang nila, to just kill time. Pag rich ka and type mo mag model just for the heck of it then you are bading. Ibang kwento syempre pag celebrity parents mo, o you were specifically requested to endorse something bec you come from high society.

    1. So you're saying model B who is the grandson of a late President and hails from the alta S, is gay? i dont think its prudent to generalize.
