Making the Decision

Patience and loyalty are the two most common answers whenever celebrities are asked about why they stayed with the same management team. Others would even attribute the waiting for their turn as the key to their big break in a particular show, movie, or other project. Whereas some celebrities wait only for a short time, others wait for years until they get noticed. Usually, the long-due fame is sweetest.

Unfortunately, impatience ruled the choice of a Young Talent (YT) and rather than spend an unknown length of time in the freezer, YT’s camp chose to bolt out as soon as all contracts were fulfilled. Allegedly, YT was no longer happy at the way she was being treated compared to her contemporaries who are slowly, but surely making names for themselves.

When Newbie Celebrity (NC) was paired off with YT, they could not get along on and off cam. The moment NC realized he was getting negative publicity left and right, which was allegedly orchestrated by the camp of YT, he packed his bags. Ironically, when he had nothing much to leave, his coming back was the opposite. NC has a stable career these days and guaranteed projects as well.

After NC left, the management had to do damage control. YT chose to explore another area, but stressed that her heart was in the entertainment industry. Then, YT heard what she wanted to hear, she was about to be given a role in a flagship program. On her own, YT underwent a refresher course on acting. She got into her character and prepared well to tackle the said role. When the notification arrived, YT could not hide her disappointment, as the note said that the project will not push through with her.

Later on, YT learned the creative team decided to change the cast to fit the storyline. Her supposed to be character needed a love interest. As she had no loveteam, the production could not risk plucking out any young male talent for the sake of ratings. In a strange twist, the production decided to give the said roles to her nemesis. The last nail on the coffin was hammered in, so to speak.

Despite the effort she exerted to enter the network, she did not want to suffer longer. After a talk with her elders, she found a way out. One of them had a connection with another management team. Soon, negotiations were underway and contracts were signed. Prior to finalizing details, YT’s camp attempted some last-minute ploys to see if her management would stop her from moving. After realizing that most of YT’s projects were flops and her popularity was not organic, the management gave her freedom and did not even bother to ask why she wanted to leave.
