Bumpy Road

One of the most common issues in showbiz is the dependence of families on their celebrity member. On the one hand, family members are wise enough to make use of the celebrity-relative’s income to generate businesses that would enable them to become financially independent. On the other hand, other families would rather sit back, relax, wait for the income of their celebrity relative, and do nothing more, but enjoy the money like they earned the amount themselves.

Nonetheless, unless they are feisty, families are sometimes fearful not to upset their celebrity-relative, who might just stop supporting them due to a disliked opinion. Thus, words are carefully chosen and interviews are shunned for fear that their opinion might cause the downfall of their celebrity relative.

When Male Celebrity (MC) started to develop a close relationship with Young Actress (YA), his family was hesitant. YA was still nursing a broken heart, whereas MC has gotten over rejection and was finding his niche in the network. However, the two have yet to confirm the status of their relationship.

MC’s family noticed changes when he started spending time with YA. He used to shun going out and partying, but the family believes that YA has influenced MC to go on gimmicks and come home early in the morning. MC comes from a strict, religion abiding family, which is different from the background of YA. At some point an elder advised MC that YA could ruin his career, but MC was already too much in love to the point that his words had silenced an elder who only spoke of a truth, which was also seen by many other people.

While MC and YA are enjoying their relationship, much to the disappointment of his family, the family of YA’s Past Relationship (PR) is relieved that she has gotten out of his life. PR’s family also thought that YA has been influential is leading PR to stray. Now that they are far from each other, PR has straightened out his act and moving on professionally.

Alas, the family of MC cannot do much, as he is the one providing for them. If MC decides to quit showbiz or dismiss his responsibility to them, they would not have much to go on. For now, all that they can do is to grin and bear with the presence of YA in MC’s life.
