Just Make Good

As soon as Network Actor (NA) revealed that he was embarking on a comeback, his mentors did not waste time in hiring his services. Thus, NA was assured of an opportunity to prove himself again and extinguish the effects of negative experiences that have hounded his career.

Although everything looks positive for NA, the move of his mentors did not sit well with the management of the station, and the root of doubt was the experience of the network with NA. Any movement in the station has a corresponding financial effect. Despite the entertainment brought by the network to the audience, everything is a matter of business. Thus, any money released by the station whether for a project or a talent is expected to have good returns. If not, then the project is shelved of the talent relegated to the sides until he/she can once again prove his/her worth in terms of return in investment.

In the case of NA, the management views him as a production loss that had an effect in the financial flow of the network. Moreover, his projects were cut short because of his demeanor during the production. For example, while working on one of his projects, he turned to a prohibited activity to escape a problem that had affected his emotional state. Thus, he would go to tapings a bit disoriented, which resulted in his poor delivery of lines. As the production could not salvage his poor performance, his character had to be killed and the project was ended. Thus, the planning for the project went for naught, and the production crew had to look for other assignments.

In his next project, the station had an ambitious project for NA. The story was not the usual one-dimensional, linear plot. Hence, the project was challenging to the production. However, NA reverted to his previous way, and he would come to tapings unprepared and unable to deliver lines. Once again, the production had to adjust, as NA was no longer competent to take the lead in the project. The time and cost had taken its toll on the budget. Unfortunately, NA had the same reason for both incidents, that is, his inability to cope with losing in the game of love.

With a new lease in his career thanks to his mentors, NA is eager to move on with his career. Nonetheless, the management is cynical over his comeback. Moreover, management is hesitant to invest so much in his next project, as the possibility of relapse hovers. Besides, the network now has a rich pool of new talents who would be more deserving of the opportunities given to NA, and thus, the question is why should he even deserve fresh investment. Nevertheless, the mentors are hopeful that NA has finally turned over a new leaf, and someone like him, who has so much talent, is difficult to turn away.
