Daughter Saves the Day
Now, when LD realized what PM did, she immediately turned the tables and became the mother reprimanding a daughter. Naturally, PM feigned innocence and said that what she did was an honest mistake. However, LD could not buy such excuse, but she had to do something.
What turned out to be an exciting moment for the staff of the department of the store almost became a scandal. When the sales people saw that PM was moving about and trying on samples of their scents, they were excited, as PM is already an icon and someone people often look up to for inspiration. So, PM tried some scents using the various testers. Then, after a while, one of the salesclerks noticed a couple of testers were missing. Fearing that salary deduction would be done to compensate for the missing bottles, assistance from the security office was immediately sought.
As quickly as possible, the security personnel reviewed the tape and they were shocked at what they saw. They could not believe that someone with her reputation could behave in such manner and in a high-end store at that. After PM tried the perfume, she immediately dropped the bottles in her bag. Discreetly, the security personnel approached PM so she could shed light on the issue. PM said that she was just confused and mistakenly placed the more than one bottle of tester in her bag.
Giving her respect, the security personnel said that they would be logging in the incident. PM tried namedropping to avoid being placed in the record book. She knows that in case someone reads the record, her reputation could be ruined. Her friends from high society would poke fun of her when they find out, and her incident would have effects on the reputation of her family and partner as well.
When LD finished her reprimand, PM asked her to do something. Thus, LD called one of her closest friends whose connections include the owners of the said store. With one phone call from the owner, PM was allowed to go and no record exists that such incident happened. Of course, all this time, PM still thinks she could get away with her alleged habit. While such action may be deemed nothing for her, as she could very well afford to buy a dozen bottles of expensive perfume, the ordinary people whose jobs are in the line, could not afford to have deductions in their salaries to cover up for PM’s antics.
