Must She Decide Just Like That

If one were to trace the career of Versatile Celebrity (VC), one would say that she had been lucky in her years of staying in showbiz. When she started out, VC had no connections, such as well-placed relatives or family friends in the network. She was not the prettiest of her batch as well. Most of all, her family did not need the money that she would make in the industry. Simply put, VC made a name for herself because she has genuine talent and support from her family.

One of her early shows pitted her talent against her peers, and at that moment, the network realized VC was destined to reach her potential and bring in the financial boost the company needed at that time. The shows of VC rated well and sponsors were coming. By just being herself, VC had attracted the attention and loyalty of various sectors and almost had a cult following.

When she reached her awkward stage, the time was right to change her image. This time, the network gambled on pairing her with Young Actor (YA), and the management was soon preparing left and right projects for the couple. However, showbiz is cruel, and with younger and more interesting talents, VC and YA were overlooked and soon, they moved out of their network.

While VC tried to reinvent herself into a serious actress, her magic was gone. Her fans had grown up and shifted their interests. Connecting with millennials seemed harder. Hence, with career that had no certainty, VC opted to give love a chance. When she met Talented Man (TM), she thought she found her match. She ended up marrying him and started her new role as wife and mother. Tides changed and she found work in a big network again.

Slowly, VC regained her finances with her various projects and with her money, she decided to invest in a home. As her career was progressing, the real situation of TM was a huge revelation. First, the projects of TM were no longer as lucrative as before, and thus, he could not match the finances VC was bringing into their marriage. Second, TM still had obligations to his family, who rely on him for support, such as educational needs. Third, TM seemed contented with his own gigs.

As they have always been overseeing her affairs, close relations of VC started to inquire about the situation of TM. They noticed that VC seems to be spending too much of her own money, and they were not satisfied with the effort of TM. Hence, they had advised her to think of breaking away from TM. They were not happy with the choice of VC for her life partner.

However, VC could not simply follow her elders. Her relationship with TM is complicated, as her endorsements are tied with their image of an ideal family. If she breaks her marriage apart, then she loses more than just the marriage. Sadly, VC cannot simply sing and dance her way out of this dilemma.
