Every day networks, talent agencies, managers, and movie outfits receive applications coming from parties who want to break into showbusiness. Given that the public easily loses interest, developing new and interesting talents is important to keep the popularity of a network or a film outfit. Thus, one question focuses on determining who among these hopefuls have the spark that could translate into millions of revenue.
To test the waters, Big Network (BN) launched a series that featured new love teams that paired new discoveries with homegrown talents. Within this group were Unassuming Actor (UA) and Cute Talent (CT). UA and CT were paired off with Controversial Lady (CL) and a talent Search Finalist (SF), respectively. At this time, CT was more famous than UA, while SF was capitalizing on the Asian trend that was blossoming then. Between UA and CL and CT and SF, the latter pair had more screaming fans and seemed to be destined to become the next hottest loveteam of the network.
As time passed, UA and CL were starring in several projects and UA was being noticed for his acting. Meanwhile, CT and SF added spice to their loveteam by admitting they were into a real relationship. The fans were delighted. Then, UA and CL were separated, and UA was given various projects and paired off with other actresses. Then, after several projects, CT and SF were unable to maintain their momentum. By contrast, UA suddenly surged in popularity and CT suffered from image problems, as his career remained stagnant.
The question as to why such happened was answered by the other factor that is most important in maintaining a career, and that factor is attitude. People noticed that UA never changed despite his popularity. Even at that time, he was not yet famous, UA would always accommodate fans asking for photos, and he always had a ready smile. UA valued his fans, whereas CT continued to believe that he was still as famous as before.
When CT was spotted in the airport, the few persons who recognized him wanted to have a photo. However, they stopped themselves because CT was being touchy with his girlfriend. Knowing that CT was online, one of the fans sent CT an online message asking if they could have a photo. CT did not respond. Still being patient, the fans observed CT and realized he had the attitude that alienated him from fans. When the passengers were called for boarding, CT opted to be the last to join his group. Then, during disembarking, CT was the last to stand up and move. The fans, who coincidentally were on the same flight, could not fathom the idea of CT moving as if he was going to be mobbed by screaming followers. In fact, there was no fanfare and it seemed that only the fans recognized him.
At the terminal, the fans tried their luck and one of them approached CT to ask for a photo. It was like talking to a wall. CT pretended that he did not hear anything, and went about his business. Thus, the fans were disappointed and given their experience, realized that CT will never ever reach the status of UA. CT was too full of himself, where humility was needed. Thus, BN probably realized this difference as well, which is why UA has been the center of attention lately.
