Pride Leads to Impulsive Blunder
The popularity of social media has given a venue to air out happy thoughts and good wishes to an audience. In the same breath, social media has become the channel to air gripes, anger, and other negative expressions, with the excuse merely exhibiting human nature. Nonetheless, responsibility seems to have been missed out in the process.
Despite the numerous celebrities who have been bashed, embarrassed, and criticized by netizens, others continue to use their social media accounts without realizing the impact of their posts. Thus, when Network Talent (NT) posted what he thought was a mere rant, he did not expect that his words would drastically affect his thriving career. Because an influential party was alluded to in the said posts, the Higher Bosses (HB) had to act on the misdeed of NT.
After deliberation, NT was given the usual reprimand and a few weeks of skipping his shows. This sanction was not new to HB, as they have been fair in giving out such orders even to the more senior talents. Upon reading of the possible decision of HB from printed channels, NT confronted one of the HBs impulsively rather than calmly talk to them. Thus, the HBs were slighted and thus, extended the consequence of the actions of NT.
Given that NT is too ingrained in the show, he could not merely quit and move on to another station or show, as that means starting from scratch and having no assurance that he could establish a new identity as a performer. Thus, he seems to be staying put and dabbling in his other hobbies. However, despite the lack of his main source of income presumably, NT is still living the same lifestyle. This attitude has resulted in a major depletion of his resources, given his fondness for the finer things in life.
One time, NT was doing his usual shopping when his credit card was declined. Thus, he had to ask his companion if he could have his bill swiped. The friend agreed. Then, to sustain his lifestyle, NT had allegedly gotten a loan from a co-worker, whose lifestyle requires his finances to be properly allocated to assure all parties in his life are appeased. As time passes, the question is if NT has learned his lesson. While loyal followers frequently commented on his initial absence, the show proved that it could go on without his presence. With the emergence of new and better talents, NT will have to learn to be humble and up his game if and when he does come back.
