TV personality and host Melai Cantiveros took to Instagram on Sunday to voice her disgust with a supporter of presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who had supposedly wished that her own daughter would be raped.
In her post, Cantiveros said that while she kept mum about being bashed on social media because she is backing administration candidate Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, she cannot just ignore the remark by a certain Shawie Enriquez attacking her and her family.
“Hindi ako nakikipag away kahit binabash ako dahil si Mar Roxas ang napili at gusto kong presidente . Pero kung sasabihin mo saken “sana ma-rape ang anak ko “—-ay ibang usapan na yan. Lalaban ako dahil hindi na tama ang punto mo. Pati anak kong baby na babae idadamay mo!?” Cantiveros said.
Cantiveros and husband Jason Francisco are known Roxas supporters, having appeared in various ads for the former Interior secretary.
The TV celebrity then addressed the supporters of the feisty mayor.
Cantiveros said that she was willing to file a case against Enriquez.
“Sa mga kaibigan kong supporter ni Duterte tingin nyo ba tama pa tong ginawa ng kapwa nyong supporter? Handa ako mag file ng kaso sa taong to,” she said.
Duterte is currently the front-runner in various opinion polls despite drawing flak for his rape remark on Australian lay missionary Jacqueline Hamill in a recent campaign sortie.

Behind the Success, Her Only and Actual Input Was Her Name and Face
Other than waxing a record, starring in a movie, or staging a concert, several celebrities have tested a new genre, which is book writing. Unlike in the previous years when book writing was synonymous to autobiographies or biographies, today, celebrities have taken it upon themselves to become experts at a field other than acting. The best way, then, to manifest this talent is to come up with a book that is targeted to an audience who has passion for reading.
While the sad reality is that patronizing or reading an actual book is declining among the younger generation, publishing firms, celebrities, and other relevant stakeholders have invested in publishing. The success of certain celebrities in having bestsellers has inspired others to try their luck. Book themes and styles are then chosen to reflect the image a celebrity wants to show the public. Thus, if a celebrity publishes a book on glamor, then he/she would then be trusted as an expert. After all, he/she was the first to publish a book with such theme.
However, sometimes obsession with using a book to market a celebrity could have its drawbacks, particularly when the said celebrity might be clueless. One afternoon, Clueless Celebrity (CC) sat in front of a very happy crowd. As the crowd browsed their books, CC signed copies in front of them. One fan started talking to CC and risked asking about making choices, which was part of the theme. CC eagerly responded to the fan. After signing her book, the fan wondered, as the verbalized answer of CC was different from what she had read. At the audience side, meanwhile, some were already wondering on the discrepancy and even thought of CC not knowing the details she wrote in her book.
As CC continued with her task, her fans shrugged off such ideas. However, what they are unaware of is that CC was not really into the said project. Given her various commitments, no one questioned her having time to write. Writing is a serious matter and much effort is given to any writing project. Much effort indeed was given to the planning and realization of the said project, but the effort came from a Prime Personality (PP) in her camp. Thus, CC was left clueless on the details of the content.
