Great Reality Check

One way of paying back the entertainment industry according to showbiz royalties is for their children to have careers as actors or actresses. On the one hand, conditions are imposed by parents whose children are very eager to enter the industry. These conditions revolve around completing studies, which would always be the child’s fallback. On the other hand, some parents actually encourage their kids to act at an early age for their own private reasons, which could be about the family fortune, as well.

For former Controversial Celebrity (CC), having her kids enter the industry is like leaving a legacy and making sure that their family remains in the consciousness of generations to come. As CC is not getting any younger and her kids are maturing, she has been thinking of letting them enter her world. The kids have always been in the limelight because they belong to a famous clan. However, they have not really been involved in any major project that would formally launch them.

Eager to have her kids start their career, CC approached some of her friends in Advertising to see if the kids can follow the same path as the kids of her contemporaries. The reply of her friends surprised CC. Feedback ranged from not having mass appeal to not having the needed looks were relayed to CC. In other words, the kids do not meet the standards.

However, CC would not allow her celebrity friends to be ahead of her, as their kids already have their following because of their endorsements even though they have not entered the industry formally. Moreover, these kids have been earning and their savings would be enough for them to live comfortably later on without the support coming from their celebrity parents as well. CC tried again, and the result was the same. The kids lacked skills in Filipino, which is vital if they want to act, and they did not possess the charm. Despite the feedback, CC remained resilient and determined for the sake of the future of her kids. Thus, she kept asking her influential friends for projects for the kids. Fortunately, her friends could not turn her down because of their friendship. However, once CC turns her back, these friends take turns in talking behind her back. So much for friendship and the future of her kids, but who knows, the persistence of CC might pay off later on and her kids might have projects of their own.
