    4. Liza made a good decision to move to Hollywood, than stay in Philippines showbiz.

Liza is bonding now with Hollywood celebrities.

Hopefully, more projects will open up for her because she is expanding her network and friends in Hollywood.

Still, she maybe new and work is scarce and difficult but Liza is using brain and expanding her network and friends in Hollywood. Doing this will help her get a leverage and more work

    1. She’s just starting her journey so how is she a has been? Besides, of all the actors in her generation, she is the only one who dared to get out of her box/ comfort zone. She is a part of that party and rubbing shoulders with Oscar winners, if that is your has been, then I don’t know what.

      Delete
    2. Darling, she levelling up. Better to be a plus one/ invited in Oscars party than you know, attending galas/ “ball” back home.

    4. Has been in Philippines showbiz by choice but she is slowly building her career in Hollywood. Better to follow your dream than be stuck in PH loveteam in my opinion

      Delete
    5. Career in local showbiz is "uncertain" because times are changing. A new generation of audience are born.

Of, course. The more matured actors will grow older, AND new and younger actors will have to take their spotlight.

Knowing this uncertainty, Liza took a leap of faith but this time, it is in Hollywood which has wider and more opportunities or more selection or more options.

    2. Actually, Hollywood can be sexist and homophobic.

Despite more women are having jobs and continue to work but most of female actors have to fight powerful men in Hollywood for the opportunity. All those male actors who came out gay - all their career fizzles out and their work and job offers dwindle down in Hollywood. Mas accepted pa rin straight men in variety of roles, than gay actors.

      Delete
    3. It is not enough to have a pretty face and slim body, dapat magaling umarte talaga.

Some actors in Hollywood have to hire "voice acting" coach to change their accents from American to British to Australian accents. In America, depending on what part of United States have also different accents from mid-west accents to southern accent twang

      Delete
    4. Liza has an American accent because she did not stop speaking English when she became an actress in Philippines. When she moved back to America, it enhances her accent.

      Delete
    5. 2:59 yes speaking of breakthrough, some gay actors made a name for themselves despite of like jonathan bailey (aka anthony bridgerton)

      Delete
    6. 12:41 am, Other actors who came out gay like Matt Bomer, Zachary Quinto at Wentworth Miller - nag-slow down ang career at hindi na masyado mainstream in movies or TV after having big projects.

Marami naman successful but big studio gives big projects to straight people because many countries are conservative.

      Delete
    7. I remember some countries tend to band some gay scenes in big Hollywood movies because some countries would reject or censor the movie.

Take note: during her time/ based from her experience.

    6. Hating women is sexism.

      Delete
Still rooting for her though kasi ito gusto niya ma-achieve, kita naman natin lahat ginagawa niya. Siguro din talagang she took to heart na sinasabi natin dito na pang Hollywood ang itsura niya kaya lahat gagawin niya makapenetrate lang dun.

    8. 3:13 I agree I used to like her dahil gandang ganda ako sa kanya at pasweet ang packaging image kahit bano ang acting at mag dialogue, until mag ikot at press release bad mouthing us from Hollywood to Korea to Philippines na she was caged and forced daw on a love team and not allowed to grow, yet they offered her darna nag drop out bec.of a finger injury na hindi naman life and death. She could have asked for special accommodation while filming fight scenes with Darna ( Russel Crow got shoulder injury filming Cinderella Man but after his surgery in 6 weeks went back filming) Nag inarte pala lola nyo. She forgot she has image to maintain because that is where the money is at di pa nya kaya noon to breakout out of love-team dahil hilaw pa sya. Ngayon papansin sya sa Pinoy kung if she needs ingay sa career nya.

    9. Face card - mas maganda si Liza sa mga photo shoots because she looks like a latina. In her movie Liza Frankenstein, mas nag-shine ang co-star Kathryn Newton because of her porcelain skin matching it with blonde hair.

      Delete
    10. 10:16 pm, I don't think Liza is bad mouthing the local showbiz. She was speaking on what she observes, which is a common practice. "Loveteam"

Showbiz industry exists because of loveteam because that's where the money come from, but it tapers down growth and creativity in writing, in acting and in making movies and TV series because Filipinos are stuck in the same genre "romcom" over and over again. Actors do not grow with cute face, puppy eyes and tweetums acting style for the last 20-30 years of working in same material again.

If you look back in the early 2000s to 90s to 80s and 70s to 50s, Action movies were thriving. Now, it only exists in selected TV projects

      Delete
    11. 3:55 am, it does not challenge the acting style of actors who are stuck in drama or romcom.

Partly at fault are the local directors who continually want "raw" acting, instead of challenging actor to become a method actor.

Raw acting is only good at the beginning for new actor because of emotional expression but if the same actor has done 5 movies and 5 television series with same genre and same "raw" acting, nothing change. Same old same old.

      Delete
    12. 3:55 tanders na sila Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Sandra Bullock, Reese W etc, yet nasa romcom pa rin sila, did it make their career stagnant? no! Actually mas napansin yung mga out of the box movie drama nila. The former even win an Oscar. Like I said bfore, loveteam is the quick scheme to get rich/ famous, pag may napatunayan ka na at strong fan base saka ka mag level up, anong ginawa, nag inarte, nag burn ng bridges, bad mouthed her former employer- a no-no even to a common employee, dapat hindi lang how to apply make up at acting pinag aaralan, pag aralan din how to be professional hindi yung inflated ego agad paganahin para hindi mag implode career.

      Delete
    13. 8:56 am, This was in 1990s and early 2000s where "Romcom" movies are mainstream in Hollywood.

Fast-forward to 2026, how many "romcom" movies you have seen in Hollywood mainstream that become blockbuster in the last 10 years?? only few

Most Hollywood movies are a combination of multiple genre: action-thriller with romance or survival - thriller with romance or horror comedy or fantasy action with romance or sci-fi with romance and mystery or super hero crime-fighting with romance.

Actors do not grow acting-wise if stuck in the same genre. Look at those Hollywood actresses you mentioned, they branched out to making movies outside of their comfort zone (outside romcom) because they want growth.

      Delete
    14. 4:59, sa haba ng entry mo di mo maget na 10 taon ng nasa streaming mga Hollywood actors, Ben affleck, Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman etc. tagal nang nasa Netflix and other platforms series konti na lang movies sa sinehan dahil hirap mag produce unless it is a vomic series that still has loyal fans

      Delete
    15. 2:58 am, Streaming services naman ang sinasabi mo. I'm talking about "mainstream" movies which is being released at cinemas, in a blue moon na lang lumabas ang "romcom" genre made in Hollywood. Most film studios are investing on anything related to action genre or a combo of other genre.

Romcom movies - is rare in Hollywood mainstream. I mean being released at cinemas, limited na. Only few are being made, and small numbers and a small amount get their money back.

Drama movies - are going obsolete in Hollywood mainstream. Kahit mga drama series in Hollywood is very few. Ayaw nila ng mga drama doon

Horror movies - are still active on mainstream

Action movies - very much active in Hollywood mainstream and streaming services like Netflix

      Sci-fi movies are limited.

  29. According to a US News Source, Hollywood's Oscars is lowest in ratings down by 9% compared to last year which was down by 12% the year before. In a country of 350 million, barely 17 million watched live in all platforms together (tv, livestreaming, etc.). The picture 'One battle' is a flop, barely able to make ROI from the 100 million budget. Some big producers are turning to other markets abroad (i.e. kdrama, bollywood, cdrama, Pnoy showbiz, Hispanic, etc.) To make money in all platforms. Hollywoodbis dying, even production teams are leaving Cali. The current Political Hollywood are not welcome in most American homes. Youtube, livestream, streaming services, tiktok, etc. are replacing Hollywood content especially since they are cheaper to make even if they are niche. The last thing you want right now is to try hollywood. Longevity is out especially at the heelsnof political divide and AI.

Ako, I'd rather watch romance, action and horror from kdrama - straightforward and is carried by the story rather than just the fame of actors.

  39. Liza, kung gusto mong may marating ka sa Hollywood, you need to become a method actor. There are many beautiful actresses out there, some of them are younger and more talented that you are but acting will sets you apart from them. Having more talents will open more opportunities.

Second, develops a thick skin. American critics are harsh but their advice will offer room for growth to become a better actor. If you're acting is bad, they will crucify you but if you have done good, they will praise you. Simple as that.

    1. Ganun din naman si Liza, harsh at pranka magsalita. Kaya mas bagay sya sa hollywood. Dito sa Pinas hindi kaya pag ganun. Hindi na agad grateful ang tingin nila.

Famous actors like Robert Downey Jr (Ironman) is a musician, Robert Pattinson (Batman) is a singer and can play piano, Keannu Reeves (Matrix,John Wick) is a member of rock-band, Johnny Depp (Pirates of Caribbean) is a musician, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is not a professional singer but can sing and perform in theater.

    5. 7:25 am, I was an OFW and used to live in America for several years. I was one of those who monitor the mainstream movies trends in Hollywood and watched the movies entry for Oscar awards and other award giving bodies.

By nature, Americans are very straight-forward which is what I like about them because they do not filter their comments. They say what they feel or stab you in front - this is better (you will know your weakness and opens room for growth) than those people who play around the bush and keep you guessing.

yes, American critics are cold and harsh. Most Americans actors seek treatment or therapy from a mental health counselor for their mental health because of pressure, expectations and criticisms. Unlike in Philippines that mental health and going to a counselor and seeking help remains a taboo. Despite the health benefits it can bring

      Delete

    8. There is a difference in culture between America and Philippines. Americans are direct and frank. They value honesty, over sparing someone's feelings. They practice tough love. Unlike Filipinos, we tend to be indirect and diplomatic, sometimes indecisive like betting around the bush which other can find too confusing.

      Delete
    9. Filipinos are "onion skin". We cannot take criticisms without being defensive or getting upset. Instead of learning from our mistakes or lacking or wrongdoing, we label the other person as "inggratta". Kaya Wala nangyayari sa Pilipinas
