I agree filipinos put so much value to entertainment but not in education or raising the bar high up on improving the living standard of every filipino. The fact that Cory had to travel as far as Europe to be a housekeeper/find means to provide for family, says it all. And how filipinos rejoice to the fact that she was a housekeeper to a well known brit/EU personality like it is some kind of achievement shows our inferiority to the west which we have just accepted. But then again who knows whats really best for every human, we all just pass throuh this life.
He is a world famous athlete with a massive pay laughing all the way to the bank.
On the contrary it shows the negative aspect of our mentality. We’re a nation that highly craves validation from others because there’s really not much else to boast about. Parang coping mechanism for our insecurity. This is why Filipinos also flock to Eala matches kasi dito nakakaranas ng kaunting karangalan ang mga Pilipino. Kinda sa actually if you think about it sometimes.
Tumpaaakkk! It's secondhand embarassment tbh kasi halatang marami ang walang ginagawa at tsismosa. And yes, the need to be validated, aruy. Wish i could like this comment a million times. Haha
Ang pait mo naman sa buhay 2:36. No, there’s actually nothing sad about it. Kaunting karangalan? Never ka sigurong nakaranas nyan or never naging proud ang mga magulang mo sayo kaya you project it sa ibang tao..Now that’s sad if you think about
Alila, DH, caregiver, nurse. Work that foreigners don't want to do pero pinapatos ng Pinoy. Kaya may insecurity. Kaya pag feeling nila may kababayan silang nakakaangat ng konti eh proud to be Pinoy na agad.
There's really not much else to boast about? Girl, anong klaseng environment ka ba lumaki? Our nation has so much to boast about, mali ka lang siguro ng tinitingnan. Kaunting karangalan? Marami tayong karangalan, pinipili mo lang yung gusto mong i-acknowledge. I feel kinda sad for you actually.
At least 9:14, they are earning their money honestly. Unlike some rich politicians who are stealing from peoples’ taxes and business people who are not paying their employees enough to live.
Pinoys are some of the most internet savvy social media-wise. In our OFW culture, we are alert to any news about Pinoys abroad dahil sa Pinoy Pride of our fellow Pinoy's success. 13 million? Tataas pa yan Piers. Pinoys 'block view' kaya ang mga FilAm na nasa hollywood are always Pinoy baiting to get Pinoy Block attention.
From my POV, it's Filipinos being happy that a fellow Filipino's great work was recognized. I refuse to believe na lahat ng Pinoy may crab mentality.
Hindi negative. More like pag ganito mga feature issues e like ng bonggang bongga pero pag election, kulang nalang mag market ng bagong strategy. And let's face it, hindi tayo nag like ng dahil dun sa help mismo pero dahil help sya ni Piers Morgan aka sikat na tao. Kaya may point ang "nega" comments.
But isnt it sad and unfortunate that Cory had to fly thousands of miles away from her family to be a housekeeper for a living? It is not negative, it is a fact of life that we seem to just accept and people like you just resigned to that predicament and would rather not resist the very poor living standards our govt made us swallow and choke with. If it was Corys personal choice to do what she does then fine, but if she was forced to because of poverty thats a different story, its not what every filipino deserves!
847 sure you could think of it that way if you are coming from a place of privilege. As a child of OFWs, I see overseas work as an opportunity that not everyone has. Stress coming from poverty in the Phils with malnourished children or the sadness of being away from well-fed and educated children, you can't say one situation is better or worse than the other.
3.23 if you benefited from flood control i get your reaction, but if not you highly likely are one of the bobotantes, then its useless to explain further
