First of all, it's safety of the customers. I had a patient once, nasa restaurant sya, bigla na lang sya sinakmal ng aso nung isang customer habang nkapila sa counter, ayun cellulitis ang labas, nahospital. Even though we know, these are tamed and trained we do not know how they are to other people. Secondly, its hygiene purpose, they have furs and could land easily to food and drinks. Third, consider other people who are allergic to pet danders.
So, yes, you are a celebrity but be sensitive to others too. Hindi lang ikaw at ang aso mo ang importante. Please look at the bigger picture.

Happened to me too several years ago, with my princess shih tzu. Nakapila na ako nang ilan minuto tapos pinalabas ako ng staff. Di ko rin alam na bawal. So dala dala ko ang dog outside the entrance tapos dinala sakin dun yun menu, took my order, took my cash, gave me my change and coffee. Nakakahiya lang kasi pinagtitinginan Kami ng tao. Sa Starbucks Solenad 2 ito sa Nuvali.

Agree naman ako sa suggestion nya. Kung ayaw ng establishment ng pets sa loob, sa pinto pa lang ilagay na ang signage para di na ipapasok ng owner pa yung pets nila. 7 ang aspins namin at ayaw ko din ng mga pinapasok sa kainan ang aso at iuupo pa with them.
Fur parent ako pero ang lagi ko unang ginagawa is itanong sa guard or staff kung pwede ang pets ipasok. Kahit sa pet-friendly mall, may shops padin na hindi pwede so dapat laging i-ask. If hinde, syempre di na ako talaga papasok. And kung ako din naman sa scenario na ito na nakapasok na ako and all tapos sabihing bawal, ako unang mahihiya and di ko na ipaglalaban at idadaan sa mga open public letter. Heller, ako nga yung mali.

I have cat and dog shelters(not in the Philippines) pero I agree na may mga entitled ones and kawawa din a fur babies dahil sa ugali ng humans nila. Sa totoo lang, I don't agree w cafes or restos na pwede ang pets dahil nakita ko kung paano nilapa ng isang bigger dog ang maliit then nagkagulo ibang pets, let's just say it was chaotic at may mga nasaktan both pets and humans. I have my own fur babies too, both dogs and cats, I won't put them in such risk, I love them and at the same time I don't want other fur babies and humans hurt. I've seen a lot of irresponsible ones kahit sa Pinas, ang liit ng dogs nila and they weren't properly holding a leash or wala at all. Pag natapakan or something, aawayin ka. I've seen human babies ganun din, yung mga magulang kala mo walang ibang tao sa mall!
Be responsible and not entitled if you want to be a fur parent! They aren't accessories or toys na pang show off lang.

Dami haters…her letter to SB was valid. Has nothing to do with her service dog. It’s just the NO pet policy rule. No sign at the door, no one told her not until she ordered and was sitting there for 20-30 min? Like she said, she will respect the policy but establishments must have proper signs. If dogs are not allowed, without shirt is not allowed, without shoes, etc. have proper sign(s) and staff must not hesitate to let valued customers know. I'm not against pets, i can play with them but i dont own one. para kasi sakin napakalaking responsibility at parang bata yan na aalagaan, ako yung tao na ayoko kumain sa isang lugar na may dogs or kung ano man fur babies, kasi feeling ko yung balahibo lilipad sa food ko, so sana maintindihan ng iba na di lahat ng tao eh ok sa ganyan. di porket may aso kayo e dapat lahat ng tao i-accept kayo. We have a Havanese and we only take him to establishments where he is welcome. He’s on a leash 100% when we’re in public. He’s always clean, harmless and he’s hypoallergenic . He’s got hair (not fur, btw) and therefore he doesn’t shed like other dogs. We always make sure to bring poop bag, wipes and towelettes in case he’s got accidents. Regardless, we respect other people who are afraid of and don’t like dogs. Not everyone is a dog lover and it’s fine. To each his own. Respect begets respect.
Tambayan yang starbucks at super crowded bat ka pa dyan tatambay kasama ang fur baby mo. Ikaw na sa sarili mo ang pumili ng allowed sila at di yung madaming tao. Saka establishment nila yan at sila ang gumagawa ng rules di lang para sa customers para na din sa safety ng mga furbabies natin.
As much as possible, i stay away from cafes and restos who allow pets inside their dining area. I don’t like getting fur in my meals and some dogs are so noisy and disruptive. Its so unnerving when i see owners sitting their dog in the chairs meant for humans, kawawa nlang yung susunod na uupo dun.
Oo nga tinuruan pa ni Aiai kung saan ilagay. Tiningnan ko yung IG post eh katabi lang naman ng pintuan hindi nya nakita? Syempre alam mo naman may restrictions sa pet as a general rule. I personally have dogs and have been a dog lover since I was a child. But I don't see anything wrong Sa suggestion here to call attention of SB. Nakakapikon nga naman un nakapasok ka na with your pet, naka order ka na and ready to dig in saka ka sasabihing Hindi pwedeng me pets. It means ang guard at staff are not equipped to do their job on screening customers that are coming in. I am also not in favor of dining with pets in a resto, lalo iuupo sa resto seats. it is true hindi natin alam mood ugali behavior ng other dogs. They are animals, hindi pang aalipusta not to let them in the restos, they shouldn't be eating there too so they have no business to be in there. Some Fur parents can be OA I agree. If you treat your fur babies as Real human babies, then fine but you cannot force everybody to agree with you.
I have 5 dogs and a cat, nagpupunta din kaman ako sa Starbucks, though medals sa drive thru, pero la kaman kong nakita na nagdadala ng dog sa loob ng store dito sa US, not sure sa iba. also, sa Walmart, kahit allowed nila mga dogs, Hindi ko din dinadala mga furbabies ko, kahit sa Home Depot, dun talaga welcome nila mga dogs. Kaya nagulat ako ng umuwi kami sa jan sa Pinas recently, ang daming may dalang dogs at mga naka stroller pa, ang cute nila. But, like others have said, may mga tong may allergies takot, or may phobia sa mga aso. Kaya dapat irespeto din.

DeleteI'm also a parent but common sense dictates na if you go to a coffee shop and other food establishments na Kasama ko mga alaga ko, inaalam ko Muna if allowed sila to enter or not. Ke may sign board or Wala that's the first thing that I do.

Alam ko alam NYa na bawal Ang aso sa starbucks! Nahuli naLang sya Nung kumahol aso nya. Ginawa naLang nyang excuse Ang sign board!
Bawal naman talaga pets sa Starbucks. Kaya hind kami diyan or dun kami sa Labas Saan kami Pwede
ReplyDeleteDami haters…her letter to SB was valid. Has nothing to do with her service dog. It’s just the NO pet policy rule. No sign at the door, no one told her not until she ordered and was sitting there for 20-30 min? Like she said, she will respect the policy but establishments must have proper signs. If dogs are not allowed, without shirt is not allowed, without shoes, etc. have proper sign(s) and staff must not hesitate to let valued customers know. Hindi afree naka order na then saka sabihin, sorry hindi pwede pets?! Doesnt matter, pag no pets allowed, no pets allowed!
ReplyDeleteSpecially sa Pinas, sa pinto may security then madami staff, mga Managers, ni isa walang sumita until later? I would be annoyed too. It’s not being entitled, she was merely stating facts and suggesting. Read the letter properly.
It would be nice for establishments to allow legit service dogs as they are properly Dogs are properly
service dog naman pala although I'm wondering kung anong assistance ang pinoprovide nya for ai-ai.. kung ganon dapat dala nya lagi copy ng RA 7277 at pag di siya pinayagan pwede siya mag reklamo for discrimination.. pero dapat sure na service dog talaga, not therapy dog or emotional support dog and definitely not a pet dog

ReplyDeleteWell it’s not being woke, it’s having good heart when you take care of pets. But yes, fur owners should be responsible and should know their limits.
DeleteI'm not against pets, i can play with them but i dont own one. para kasi sakin napakalaking responsibility at parang bata yan na aalagaan, ako yung tao na ayoko kumain sa isang lugar na may dogs or kung ano man fur babies, kasi feeling ko yung balahibo lilipad sa food ko, so sana maintindihan ng iba na di lahat ng tao eh ok sa ganyan. di porket may aso kayo e dapat lahat ng tao i-accept kayo. May mga tao din na matindi amg allergies sa fur kaya pls lumugar kayong mga fur parents
ReplyDeleteWe have a Havanese and we only take him to establishments where he is welcome. He’s on a leash 100% when we’re in public. He’s always clean, harmless and he’s hypoallergenic . He’s got hair (not fur, btw) and therefore he doesn’t shed like other dogs. We always make sure to bring poop bag, wipes and towelettes in case he’s got accidents. Regardless, we respect other people who are afraid of and don’t like dogs. Not everyone is a dog lover and it’s fine. To each his own. Respect begets respect.
ReplyDeleteTambayan yang starbucks at super crowded bat ka pa dyan tatambay kasama ang fur baby mo. Ikaw na sa sarili mo ang pumili ng allowed sila at di yung madaming tao. Saka establishment nila yan at sila ang gumagawa ng rules di lang para sa customers para na din sa safety ng mga furbabies natin.

DeleteAs much as possible, i stay away from cafes and restos who allow pets inside their dining area. I don’t like getting fur in my meals and some dogs are so noisy and disruptive. Its so unnerving when i see owners sitting their dog in the chairs meant for humans, kawawa nlang yung susunod na uupo dun.

ReplyDeleteOo nga tinuruan pa ni Aiai kung saan ilagay. Tiningnan ko yung IG post eh katabi lang naman ng pintuan hindi nya nakita? Syempre alam mo naman may restrictions sa pet as a general rule. As pet owner you make sure kung pwede ba ipasok at ikaw na mismo maghahanap ng sign or magtatanong kung allowed ang pet or hindi.

ReplyDeleteI personally have dogs and have been a dog lover since I was a child. But I don't see anything wrong Sa suggestion here to call attention of SB. Nakakapikon nga naman un nakapasok ka na with your pet, naka order ka na and ready to dig in saka ka sasabihing Hindi pwedeng me pets. It means ang guard at staff are not equipped to do their job on screening customers that are coming in.
ReplyDeleteI am also not in favor of dining with pets in a resto, lalo iuupo sa resto seats. it is true hindi natin alam mood ugali behavior ng other dogs. They are animals, hindi pang aalipusta not to let them in the restos, they shouldn't be eating there too so they have no business to be in there. Some Fur parents can be OA I agree. If you treat your fur babies as Real human babies, then fine but you cannot force everybody to agree with you.
unhygienic naman tlga ung pets lalo pag sa mga air conditioned/ indoor establishments. Pwede nman sa outdoor nalang teh Ai.
ReplyDeleteI have 5 dogs and a cat, nagpupunta din kaman ako sa Starbucks, though medals sa drive thru, pero la kaman kong nakita na nagdadala ng dog sa loob ng store dito sa US, not sure sa iba. also, sa Walmart, kahit allowed nila mga dogs, Hindi ko din dinadala mga furbabies ko, kahit sa Home Depot, dun talaga welcome nila mga dogs. Kaya nagulat ako ng umuwi kami sa jan sa Pinas recently, ang daming may dalang dogs at mga naka stroller pa, ang cute nila. But, like others have said, may mga tong may allergies takot, or may phobia sa mga aso. Kaya dapat irespeto din.

ReplyDeletefurmom din ako I have 10 dogs and 3 cats pero di ko talaga sila sinasama sa mga coffee shop, resto at mall, simply because di naman lahat ng tao pwede sa balahibo nila and hindi din lahat gusto ng pets. learn to respect boundaries of other people wag masyado entitled.
