Letter from a Reader: Please Don't Deprive Us!

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I'm an avid fan and it has been my habit to check your blog everyday. I also try to read the comments of other FP fanatics if I have the time. Your blog is very influential and I am writing you this letter hoping and praying that our appeal will be heard.

Our appeal is regarding the Board of Nursing's memo that the July 2011 Nursing Board Exam Passers will not be having the traditional mass oath taking ceremony. This is very disappointing for me because I am one of the July NLE board exam passers and knowing that I will not be able to experience this tradition gives me a heavy heart.

I believe that the Oath Taking Ceremony is a solemn event that should be experienced by new registered nurses because this is our time to make our parents proud by having them witness us taking the oath. This will also give them the feeling of fulfillment after all the hard work that they have gone through to send their children to the nursing schools.

We (new RNs) are aware of the country's economic condition, and the scarcity of job opportunities but depriving us of this experience would not solve it. Having the experience of seeing our parents proud is priceless. Money can be earned until the day we die.

I am hoping that the proper authorities could read this so that our appeal may be heard. Thanks FP and more power!

Sincerely yours,
urRoyaLhighness

  1. Hello! Another July NLE board passer here. :) Ako, kebs na lang kahit saan pa tayo mag-oath taking. may it be sa prc na lang. the important thing naman eh isapuso at isabuhay ang nilalaman ng oath. and i think our parents are already proud the day we told them the good news :)
    just sayin'.

  2. Having people send FP complaints are bad experiences with brands I understand. But this one I really dont get.

    Bakit kay FP ka ngrereklamo?

Come on people. Hindi si FP si Tulfo!

  3. I think the letter sender is aware that a lot of people read FP's blog everyday and with that she/he is hoping that the appeal will be passed on to the whoever-is-related-to-the-Board of Nursing through the help of avid readers. On the other hand, your issue is so irrelevant in this blog that most readers will not take their time off to read yours.Just sayin'.

  4. oh sure, the "proper authorities" are fans of this site so you are airing your grievance here, right? NOT!

you should focus all your energies on fnding a job and not be so hung up on this oath taking ek-ek. how lame. jsut sayin'.

  5. What in the world is this??? Nakakatawa lang ang sender. Hahahhaha WHY IN WORLD WILL YOU ADDRESS THE ISSUE TO FP? I really really really do NOT get it.

    Dear sender,

You stated in your letter you are hoping the proper authorities will read this. I suggest you send the complaint to the "proper" authorities to address the issue. I believe if this indeed is important to you, you would do just that.

Come on!!! FP?? Really?? Tsk tsk,

  6. Dear Letter Sender,

Really now, complaining to FP will solve your "no oath taking ceremony" problem? Start looking for a job instead of complaining about you not having your oath taking ceremony.

Hindi ang oath-taking ceremony ang mahalaga iha, yung nilalaman ng oath at kung paano mo yun isasagawa for the rest of your professional career at bilang Filipino Nurse prioritizing your countrymen. Bow.

  8. Dear Letter Sender,

The oath-taking is not the answer to having a good professional career. I am a CPA Board passer and I tell you, I personally did not join the oath-taking. To me the oath-taking was not the end of it. What I thought was most important was the license to practice my profession... There after, I started to build my career and went further to purse a higher education...not having undergone the oath-taking did not diminish my value as a CPA board passer...
And also, FP is not the appropriate venue to air your grievance...go to the proper authorities or better write Malacanang a letter to air your grievance... As a Fashion Pulis reader, I love to know juicy chizmaks than your unfounded grievance....

  16. i agree wholeheartedly that this grievance should not be posted here. it should be sent straight to the the proper individuals that may be able to assist the letter sender.
i also agree that the oath taking isn't important but the fact that he/she passed the exams & may now start their nursing career.
but I DISAGREE with how some commenters reacted with laughter & a haughty attitude. who are we to belittle this grievance? for this nursing student the oath taking is very important to her/him so her/his letter is an opportunity to air out feelings & a desperate(?)effort to reach out for some possible help. a little compassion people...

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Commenter 12:50 TRY MO KAYA MAGBOARD EXAM :)they earned their Licenses.SO it's normal for them to be proud of their achievement, Lalo na with the Passing rate of the Past NLE. so what kung JOBLESS ANG MGA RN'S? and how sure are you that they ALL took up Nursing just to have your so-called "magagandang" pdeng mangyari.?

    ReplyDelete
  19. yes, i think it's okay to air her concerns here too. wala namang nakasaad na "RULES" except for guessing blind items - w

  20. kaloka!hindi ung post kundi ung mga comment.im also an RN and i do understand how this sender feels.maybe super overwhelmed lang sya after the hard work he/she allotted to make it with flying colors.(BOOM!)

This is a democratic country and we can speak our minds. The idea na pinost ng FP toh meaning eye catcher. And its upto the readers how to react.PAK!

  22. I'm a future RN and im so sad to hear this rant. And saying that we're jobless? Kanya kanyang panahon lang yan okay? Dati nga pati doctor nagaapply as a nurse eh. Hindi mo alam ang mangyayari so DON'T JUDGE US.

    ReplyDelete
At kailangan pa talagang tawanan.

ang importante nakapasa ka!life is just about to start for the real world for u....

    ReplyDelete
  25. wala mga bitter lang yan. maybe di sila nakapasa dati ng nursing course kaya ganyan makareact. hahah HATER! of course each one of us wants some recognition from all the hard work and all the sleepless nights. its like an endless battle for that title you long for. So would you blame her if that is one of the few things of the main event of her life that she would feel her fulfillment? and the only event in her life that she would feel and see her parents priceless look of pride on their faces
